What is the config option you are talking about? I only see a single CONFIG_DRM_I915_KMS option, with the (confusing) title "enable it by default". So the switch is just about enabling or disabling it by default, but the support is always enabled? Or have I mistaken something? > I guess its possible to tell the kernel to switch console to inteldrmfb as > soon as it gets available but I've no idea how and if this would work with > splashy. Splashy uses directfb, so as long as directfb supports inteldrmfb, it's fine. Though I'm not sure the later is true. Thanks.
