>RIP times from several (15-30) hours for 500 records with a PDF to a
few minutes(>20) for 5000 as JLYT

Hello, all

I wanted to highlight Richard's post regarding the performance gain he
saw on PDF vs. JLYT in his HP VDP workflow. I don't think that's a
typo, from what I have seen in PDF vs. JLYT or HP PPML RIP performance -
Richard achieved a 450x performance gain in RIPing JLYT over PDF!

JLYT and HP PPML are the ONLY VDP formats that are optimized
specifically for the HP VDP workflow. Using these formats, the HP DFE's
can take advantage of object reusability (RIP an image once and only
once for the entire job) where there is no object reuse by the DFE's in
PDF - every single page is RIP'd, regardless of if the images are
referenced in an optimized manner in the PDF file itself.
