I will also agree that you should take this to a lab and read the book.

The Provider-1 is just like your management server but it has what is known as
CMA's these will be what you smartcenter use to be.

You will sinc up just like before in smartdashboard

You will need to migrate you rules and this is where you should setup a lab and
practice this all the book reading and people trying to tell you what to do
will
not get this done. You must do this on your own in a lab to get it right.

Yes there is a way to backup and you can also build a backup provider-1.

I recommend a good server with a raid setup so you don't really bneed to worry
about a drive crashing.

Subject: [FW-1] Provider-1

Hi, I need to setup a provider 1 for our customers. Before we were managing all
the customers individually via their smart center servers mostly on R65 but we
are moving to Provider 1 as customer are growing. Just need some help with
provider-1 setup. Appreciate if some one could answer the following questions.

1. Do I need individual Management servers as well if i have a provider1 server
2. how do I setup a SIC between enforcement modules and provider 1.
3. will I need to migrate security policies from managemnet servers to provider
1.
4. Is there a way of backing up provider1

kind regards
