Hey, Depending on what configuration you have, this can be easy or very painful.
If you are running a normal install and haven't changed the /etc/passwd file ie: admin:x:0:0::/home/admin:/bin/cpshell AND know you expert password...Do the following. boot up with the SPLAT CD and go into maintenance mode. Enter your expert password, boot up then type ' passwd admin ' That's it! The harder part is if you don't know your Expert Password. You can do a number of things, 1) Create another SPLAT install in a VM and copy /etc/shadow and /etc/passwd from the VM where you know the password and put it on to the install where you forgot the password. (just takes a long time) 2) Boot up with another Linux CD (the Knoppix CD didn't work for me in this instance), so I used a Redhat Linux Rescue CD and do the following: Mount the SecurePlatform OS and change (if out of default): /mnt/sysimage/etc/passwd to use cpshell for admin. then change expert password by: ' chroot /mnt/sysimage /bin/expert_password reboot with SPLAT cd and go into maintenance mode login using your new expert password (hopefully you haven't forgotten it by now) and change the admin password: ' passwd admin' Hope this helps...
