Just got a 40G IBM Travelstar from newegg along with a USB 1.1/FW 2.5 enclosure from computergeeks.com for around 200 total (150 HD, 50 case). The case description mentions that it needs a PS/2 -> power adapter when using FW, but I figured they were thinking PC notebooks which typically have the 4-pin no-power carrying FW port not the 6-pin power carrying port that apples have and turns out I guessed right, the case does work as self powered when used with my TiBook. a quick search at newegg.com for IBM notebook drive: size price 15G 65 20G 91 30G 115 40G 142 the geeks case: http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=064-040036 -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
