Heh, if people didn't buy apple portables that had problems with their hinges... Not many models would have sold. I don't believe the lombards were in the class of the wall streets or tibooks as far as hinges go, but hinge issues on apple portables are why I've never bought applecare for a tower, but will not buy an apple portable without it (or that can't be transferred).
