Kinda the opposite. I was experiencing double characters with a number of my
keys but it was not consistent in which characters. Striking the characters
a bit more firmly has resolved the problem. Not sure why though. I did
realize that when typing on the iBook keyboard it doesn't require the firmer
strike since the keys don't travel down as far.

On another note, my keyboard died on my G4 at work last week. One of the
original, short USB models. I went to my local CompUSA to buy a new Apple
Pro keyboard. Unfortunately they mark theirs up $10 more than Apple sells
them for ($69 instead of $59) and Apple ship free (UPS Ground).

I was pretty miffed. The same was true when I bought the AV cable for my
iBook. It was $29 at CompUSA and Apple sells it for $19, shipped free.
That's a 50% markup! I needed it that day, bought it, ordered one from
Apple, and returned it to CompUSA when the other arrived from Apple. I
didn't take time to look around but wonder how many other Apple brand
accessories were marked up.

To make a long story, uhm, longer, I ended up buying a Kensington Keyboard
last week for $39, from CompUSA because I needed one that day. It feels like
it has too light a touch for me. I'm used to the old USB and newer Pro
keyboards. The Kensington keys just feel a tad too soft, softer than even
the iBook keys. It's a nice keyboard though and I thought it looked nicer
than the Macally next to it, but still not as nice as the Apple Pro.
