 Yes, there are tabs but the keyboard seems to lie higher than that,
 thus moving up and down when one types the keys in the upper
 right hand region.

 I will try to reshape the keyboard so that it lies against the tabs,
 or else I will put some foam to stop it from flexing.

Thansk!

DON'T USE FOAM! You need to recheck how the keyboard is seated. At the top;
between the function keys you will see a center latch screw, use a jewlers
screwdriver to unlock the KB, then there are 2 tabs to the left and right
that should slide back to allow you to lift the back edge of the KB up.
Towards the bottom of the KB you will see 3 small metal tabs make sure when
you seat the KB that they are slotted under the lip of the case. Then make
sure that the upper tabs are retracted as you lay the KB in place. If you
need a picture to follow along with, let me know and I will contact you off
list with a place you can download the repair manual for the Pismo.

I hope that I'm responding to this correctly as I've been a lurker for ages but never entered into the fray before. I've had a Pismo (500)(new) since April of 2000, and have since day 1 had an issue with the keyboard wobble on both the left and the right upper corners. It had the orig 12gig drive and later replaced with a 20gig IBM drive. I've added both a 256Meg and a 512Meg memory module as well as an Airport card, so I've been in and out of it numerous times. The keyboard is properly latched both top and bottom and still a gap between keyboard and drive and keyboard and pc card case. So everytime I hit the 2 key or the = key it felt weak and 'flaky'. I solved the issue 1 month after I got it by taking a PostIt pad (1.5 x 2 in) and adjusting the thickness by removing sheets until the keyboard fit and felt like it should. I used 2 of them, one on the HD and another over the card case. Maybe 10 or 12 PostIt's in each location. If you take the bottom sheet of the stack it becomes self adhesive but is easily removed later. It's been that way for over 3 years now and has yet to blow up on me and feels a heck of a lot better. Low tech but it works. Never a heating problem.
