This is slightly OT but I've seen it on my Powerbook so I'll ask:

I've just brought home a G4 Powermac (AGP Graphite 500 MHz) from my office. It was running 9.2.2 flawlessly at work (but I didn't do any printing). I installed OS X over the top of the 9.2 and it runs fine in OS X. If I try to boot into 9.2.2, the mouse and keyboard don't function. In fact if I unplug the mouse (either an Apple optical mouse or Microsoft optical mouse, and plug them back in, there is no light emitted at all. The only way to get mouse and KB to function is to start with extensions off! I wish to run in OS 9 to use an old Epson printer which I've connected to a Keyspan PCI serial card.

I've just erased the boot partition and done a clean install of 9.2.2 and it is still bad. It worked 2 weeks ago but since then I've swapped the original DVD-RAM optical drive for a Superdrive and swapped the original ATI video card for a Radeon 9000. Could these be connected with this frustrating problem?

As I said, I saw a similar issue on my TiBook 800 when switching to Classic to use an HP scanner that didn't have an OS X driver.

Any ideas folks?

TIA
