I'm recording with my Powerbook and a MOTU 828 audio interface. I am also using a firewire hard drive to write tracks to.
My question has to do with adding a firewire port. I only have one on my Powerbook, and was previously using the built-in hub port on the firewire hard drive case. That port failed last night, and no longer is recognized by my Powerbook.
Should I buy a Firewire hub? Or, should I buy a PC Card with a Firewire port?
I'm interested in bandwidth problems that may happen by having an 828 and a hard drive on the same firewire bus. Is it better to use a PC Card or a hub?????
