I have this card on a g3 wall street and run it successfully on OS( and 10.1 and 10.2 now.

You should get an image of a card in the menu bar under OS10.2, but not 10.1
In OS9 an image of the card appears on the desktop.

In OS 9 there are two extensions which need to be switched on for firewire. One of them incorporates drivers for the card. IN OS X no additional drivers are needed. I use mine exclusively for a formac cd burner, at the moment. About to add an external hard drive when it arrives. Absolutley no problem with Jaguar II assure you.

Perhaps it is your peripheral device that is not being recognised. I remember that with toast, the formac cd rw was not recognised. But with Apple's own cd burner it is. So I ditched Toast, as unnecessary.

does a driver exist for this cardbus card (for my g3 wallstreet)?

I do not think you will find a driver, as it supported. You can get the extension drivers from Apple's site for OS 9 though, if you do not have them for some reason on your install disc (they are on my OS 9.2).
