It might be. My apartment was burglarized back in the early 90's and while
the perps didn't find my PowerBook they did take the desktop computers and
my CD box. While most software companies replaced disks and of course much
of the software was downloadable, a couple companies refused including
Quark. Those that refused insisted it was the responsibility of my insurance
company to replace the software. My insurance company declined and that's
when my agent suggested a rider. Talk about shutting the barn after the
horse is gone.

Yes, you can install a different version of the OS on each partition. My
desktop came with 10.1 and as each upgrade has come out I've kept the old
while upgrading to the new. (Actually I do the same for updates. Once bitten
twice shy.)
