I had a similar problem years ago with a different powerbook and software, but mine would only happen when I was on battery. After shipping it to Apple, etc., etc., a tech locally said to change the energy saver so it wouldn't cut back on power on battery because the PC card needed continuous power or it would crash the whole system. For what it's worth....good luck
