Anyone else having fits with Tiger on the Al Books? I've been getting
hangs - maybe once a day - that lock everything. No mouse, no
keyboard, nothing. I have to use a ctrl-cmd-power to reboot, no
matter how long I wait.
They seem to come with opening new program instances - like finder
windows, mail messages, safari tabs, etc.
This is a fresh erase-the-disk-and-install Tiger installation. I have
a single 1gb RAM stick that was bought from OWC about 8 months ago.
The only other OS level item I see that I have installed is
Temperature Monitor Lite, but it was hanging before I installed that.
10.4.1 has been better than 10.4.0, but Panther was solid, no hangs.
I haven't had these problems before I installed Tiger. I've done
loads of PRAM resets, nvram resets, permissions repairs, disk checks
and extensive memory tests - everything checks out fine.
Anyone else with similar woes? Maybe a fix?
- Dylan
