I agree completely! This bizarre design change forces me to take my iBook when traveling and not my Albook so I can get stronger WIFI connections. Now, my Pismo, because of its larger size and much larger antenna (compared to a 12") is the WIFI champ, but too big to travel with, for me anyway.
