No, the internal B&W G3 modems will not work with the Beige G3s (different
slot). As for advantages... unless your 56K doesn't work I wouldn't bother
replacing it.

AFAIK there is no limitation on the Beige G3 (& the All-in-one G3s) as to
the CPU they can take. It's only the B&W G3s that were crippled by the
firmware patch (because they're virtually identical to the first generation
G4) to reject G4s.
What I write next I never fully understood (please correct me if I'm wrong
or confirm if I'm right)... but (if I understood the explanation at the time
(& it's real fuzzy in my mind now)) there's supposedly a limit to how fast a
CPU the motherboard can support. I thought it was related to the multiplier
at which the CPU can run (e.g. a 700 MHz G4 with a 10x multiplier could only
run at 660 MHz in a Beige G3 because of the 66 MHz mobo). Is this correct
G-list denizens out there? If so, that would mean max for B&WG3/1st/2nd gen
G4 1 GHz? (& 900 MHz for G3?)
