I think you're forgetting how macmall and macwarehouse promoted the HELL out
of OS X... Grandma's and non-technical people were upgrading to it, probably
when they shouldn't have been.

It took you 8hrs to download that CD, and I BELIEVE that the normal DSL line
is 256, or half your speed... Imagine taking 650megs over 14 hours, times 5
million people. Apple's servers or just going to choke on that...

You can get the update free in apple stores, while supplies last.

I don't like that... You don't dig the product, because it has a dearth of
native apps... So instead of buying it you use a copy of it illegally? I
really hate pirates. Yeah some fudging here and there is no big deal (like
using the same macos X CD on more than one machine you have) but just giving
it away is unethical.

I do graphic design, and have to spend thousands on software. It sucks, but
it means if there isn't a lot of value in It for me, I don't buy it. I don't
go out and pirate it. Even still, I dont think they even have that in mind.

I can understand that you wanted macOS X to be something it wasn't when it
first came out...

But unless you were living in a cave, or just bought it from the
macwarehouse advertisements... You knew exactly what you were getting- a
piece of software that apple HAD to get out the door to show everyone it was
serious this time about it's OS, and that it was coming and real.
