Heh, to a certain extent you just need to do that.
Ie, people have workflows... If you are a web developer, you use either:
A) Photoshop, imageready, illustrator, office, flash, golive
Or
B) Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, freehand, office, flash
Sometimes you mix and match them, ie not using photoshop and just fireworks
(you can get away with it for just web work easily).
The problem is that a lot of the apps interconnect. I'll use adobe as an
example as besides office, its what most mac people are waiting on...
A lot of designers aren't the savviest of the bunch (any on the list
excluded) ;) and they're kind of unsure about how the whole macOS X thing
works. Yes, they've read reviews and know about classic, but they dont KNOW
how it works, haven't really used it.
If they are going to be moving their workflow to macos X, they want
everything they know there, so its comfortable and works together. Adobe has
spent years pushing their marketing towards how all their apps integrate, so
its in these people's heads.
It's different in people's heads than the 68k to PPC migration because this
"feels" like a whole new OS to people, almost like they are changing
computer operating systems. No one wants to use classic, even if its fast.
They want the new operating system. :)
So yes, indesign and illustrator will come out first, but they won't be huge
sellers... Many, many people will wait until they can get them all at once,
as they're in people's heads as being an "interconnecting suite".
MacOS X is cool... And the mac's future... But this part of it does suck. :)
YMMV
