I'm leaning toward the IBM right now, but still thinking, hoping to gather

The IBM 60GXP series ("Deskstar") and 40GN series ("Travelstar") have been
awesome drives.

The IBM 120GXP may also be awesome as well.

My personal preference is for 60 GB drives from either IBM (60GXP, but now
obsoleted by the 120GXP) or Maxtor (DiamondMax Plus 60).

Alas, after the Maxtor/Quantum merger one really doesn't have much of a clue
as to which drive is which.

One give-away is the Quantum/Maxtors are usually UATA/133, whereas the
Maxtor/Maxtors are usually UATA/100.
