i often pay more for products NOT made in china. just today i bought a u.s. made garden hose fitting, i was happy to pay 50 cents more for it than the made in china unit, besides it was better made. i've paid up to twice as much for non made in china items before, and will continue to do so when possible. i will by products made in many foreign countries, but not the ones with terrible human rights records and other serious political problems. there's even a very fine brand of sporting ammunition i won't buy simply because of where it's made, i know it's quality, but i refuse to help support the military complex of the country involved (i'll refrain from naming the brand or the country to avoid creating an issue, but those who shoot can probably guess who i'm talking about).
