Greetings Everyone: Sorry I haven't been online to post and answer your
threads, I had to undergo my first phase (3rd day) of chemotherapy this
afternoon and I get pretty sick for a few hours afterward, so I end up
exhausted and laying down for awhile. I wasn't trying to "hide" or "avoid"
any comments made about my post, just a little tired and nauseous.

Speaking of nauseous, it was so nice to read all your posts about a topic
that obviously incites a lot of inner feelings. I enjoy good debate and
feel that people can and should be able to discuss something like this
without resorting to name calling or inferring that one person is less of a
person because he happens to see things differently. We all have an opinion
and use this forum as a vehicle to express it. I posted this originally and
asked for your input, I thank those who were able to contribute and keep
some sense of dignity and decency in their tone. As far as this not having
any place on this list, I disagree with you. I posted it here, not as a
political statement, but because I read it, and felt that it was just as
valid as any other post that is placed here quoting a celebrity on their use
of a Mac, or that an article appeared discussing some software program that
wont be released for months to come, or a company's decision to charge a
measly $8.33 per month (close enough) for offering a premium group of
services, far more than originally intended for free, in order to make it's
product economically viable to provide. It's amazing to me that one would
complain vehemently post after post, about a company charging for a service
to offer, yet when an alternative is presented that could easily generate
far more income than what is anticipated from this charge, and simply
involves some marketing and advertising ploys, everyone is up in arms
equally over that. Did anyone ever bother to stop and consider that with
marketing the product on one of the highest rated programs around might
generate enough income to forego any charges for this and other programs
that will undoubtedly become "pay" needless to mention bolster sales and
value.

While I don't always agree with Rush's politics, I don't always agree with
the garbage that is on T.V. either. Yet, the Mac commercials run during the
prime time hour and all through the night during some of the most brainless,
idiotic programs along with some of the most seedy trash on the air, and I
don't hear anyone complaining about that. The fact that they run on a
national medium that you enjoy watching or condone the garbage that's being
aired, I guess that type of advertising is O.K. Personally, I find much of
the programming on the major networks offensive and appeals to an audience
that I choose not to be a part of, hence, I don't watch them. I wish Apple
wouldn't support this idiocy by running it's ad's during that air time. But
it's advertising that will sell products. You don't have to listen to Rush
Limbaugh, that's your choice. But what is and what is not appropriate to be
discussed on this list is not your choice. To call people names and infer
they're idiots for listening to the program or having an opinion contrary to
yours is not appropriate. I shouldn't have to step in and say that, you
already knew it. Had I been here instead of the hospital, I would have
stepped in. Like you so eloquently stated, if you don't care to read it or
participate in a decent manner, then you can use your delete button, or just
go do something else.

I chose to post a topic, and many chose to post their heartfelt opinions and
kept them in the parameters of the business aspects of the decision and I
appreciate your participation. While we may disagree, that's the beauty of
this list, we can agree to disagree and go on to the next topic. For those
of you that chose to resort to name calling and ranting, well, take a look
at my original post. It wasn't political, it discussed a business decision
or lack of one, on the part of Apple and I simply asked what everyone
thought of the decision, not Mr. Limbaugh's politics, or your personal
opinion of him, just the statement that Apple could have increased it's
market share by advertising on his program. It's a shame you're so filled
with hate that you couldn't see what it was that I was asking. Life's too
short for that, believe me, I found that out the hard way 2 weeks ago.

Aloha,

Ron Ward
