Success at last. Due to a message on the list I finally was able to
install 10.2 on my Beige G3 DT. The key was to REMOVE memory.
Originally the G3 came with a wimpy 32 meg dim and I had added 128
meg and 256 meg dimms. I saw nothing but hang, hang, hang, hang on
install attempts. I simply removed the 256 dimm and everything flew.
I have put the 256 dimm back and put the USB/Firewire Combo card back
and every thing is fine. Life is good!!!!!

I know what your thinking, "This guy must have a totally boring life
if he gets so excited about a simple install". I had already
installed 10.2 on three other newer macs with no problems.

In theory, practice and theory are the same,
but in practice they are different.
