Having 1gb of ram helps out the speed alot over a stock machine as well.
also  they must have shipped some crappy HD's with the G4's < though I doubt

then again  if you take a supped up G4/800 and run a speed test on it   Im
sure it will blow a lot of things away...is just that mine is ugraded to the
hilt.   and wouldnt  trade it even/swap for a stock G/4 800   would then
have to spend a few $100's more on upgrades.
