Thanks for the comprehensive answer. This  one  goes  in my  "keepers"
folder. I will,  I hope, need all the info as I  progress (should I
progress). I'm using an older Que USB external burner off my iMac and Toast
4.1.2. Will I run into compatibility problems  by going to  Toast Titanium?
Also, I'm building up  an 8500 to  do video work  on and need a
recommendation for an  internal IDE burner for it. I have an ATA 66 card
for it that I  hope  to use 1 buss to run 2 20gig ide drives from and the
other buss to run the internal cd-r(w) (bootable).
