It works on beige well, but you have to do a hack in order for it to no longer crash, its an ati chipset bug. Go to apples site and look up article 25564 in the support area. It will explain how to fix the crash problem!
I just wanted to say thanks for posting this. I've done it to both of my Beige G3s and have not had problems with 10.2.8 since!
