Actually No! A Little more ram never hurts in a Mac since it uses ram
efficiently. But I have bad news! Beige G3 systems have crappy IDE, in fact
it gets on my nerves! You should have a burner with Burn Proof, Or active
link. Which enables the burner to stop and resume a burn. I have a 24X Nec
drive and it works great but stops every once in awhile. But resumes nicely.
You absolutely should have a drive with burn proof and the Mac software you
use to burn your CD's should have the ability to use it, most drives today
and I am sure the one you have, have burn proof. Use the latest toast and
make sure it FULLY supports your drive. I have 320MB ram in my 300MHZ rev 3
Mac, and I did use the drive with only 256MB ram until recently, and I
always have a few programs open when I burn, and well I use a lot of ram,
and I still never have enough, burn proof solves the problem.

I hope I helped.
