A problem with high density sticks.

The same problem exists on the Beige G3 in which 256 MB sticks made with
high density chips will show up as only 128 MB.

The motherboard is apparently reading the correct stick capacity from the
stick's EPROM, but the motherboard's DRAM controller will not properly
handle the row/column addressing of the high density chips, if there is
two banks on the stick.

High density chips usually will work if they are single-sided only, IOW
contain only one bank.

Only buy sticks which are larger than the Apple spec says the machine
supports unless you get a "no questions" money back guarantee on those
sticks.
