The maximum amount I can find listed for the ZB&W is 1GB so that's 4 256MB sticks.
I've had RAM that only shows up as 1/2 what it's rated and usually the
RAM was made after the Mac was built and is newer technology.
My B&W fan is kinda loud, but much quieter than my Power Tower Pro's fans.
I've never seen anyone mod the fan but I'm sure you can do it. It would be a
good idea to put a fan on your heat sink since it OC'd.

Hello, I am new to "macs" so I have been living/lurking on the lists and google is my friend. There seems to be a few things I cannot find the answers to and am asking in hopes of resolving the "issues" with my B&W The specs rev 1 350 (gingerly overclocked to 400--running fine) replaced cd-rom with a dvd+/- R/RW working fine running 10.3.5 no problems running fast and smooth 2 HDDS both 80 gig, no probs here either 2-512 ram,1-256 ram,1-128 ram problem number 1. The 512 sticks are only showing up as 256 sticks no matter which slots I put them in, one is PC-100 and the other is PC-133. I show a total of like 900 megs of ram. I always thought that ram was either working or not. I mean good or bad, but I never have run across ram running at 1/2 of its rated capacity and cant find any explanations. Is this a "mac" thing maybe? The other problem I have run across is this is loud. I mean the fan is pretty loud, not noisy like a functional prob but loud. I purchased three more B&W's(I have to experiment and will sell them after I learn a bit more) and every one is the same. Is it possible to remove that big honking fan and install something like 3 standard case fans? I figured 3 fans would provide plenty of cooling and circulation and alot less "volume" on the air movement. I there a reason why one couldnt or shouldnt change the fan? I know these are not major issues but they are annoying to me and I cant seem to find any info on either. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, A J
