Nothing installed or updated recently except for the new Explorer described
below.

Explorer 5 has been quitting while browsing different sites. The app just
quits suddenly. A re-start has fixed it so far. Thinking that maybe my app
was corrupted somehow, I just downloaded Explorer 5.1 and installed it.
Thought my problems were fixed, but recently my Outlook Express 5.02 just
did the same thing. I had not updated Outlook, just Explorer. This time, the
desktop was all in disorder. The icons were all off to the side, off screen.
Did a re-start and am now writing this email. I am beginning to think that
my OS or Machine is ill. I have TechTools Pro 3.4 and plan on running the
machine from the CD to diagnose, but not sure if it will tell me anything.
Anyone else had this kind of problem? Is my hard drive starting to go? Any
ideas?

Thanks,
Kathi

This may not be the case but, since it won't do any harm, I'd trash the Finder Preferences file if nothing else works.
