Kathi8/28/04 10:00 AM I ran TechTools from the CD and did the whole works - auto fix. It fixed a bunch of bundle bits and file dates and custom icons. It reported that some files failed (nothing serious) and advised me to do a clean install of the System folder. Before I do that I will trash the preferences as you suggest. I probably have a problem with something I downloaded, or possibly with the recent install of a Umax PowerLook II scanner, or maybe a virus or worm. Before I do the clean install, I will see if what TechTools just did for me has improved anything. I was grateful it did not turn up anything major. I let Techtools do the full scan for problems every time I shut down at night. TechTools has bailed me out of some jams before. I like it.
