This may be irrelevant, but my HP printer experiances are REALLY BAD. It could be bad luck with the models I got, but It could and probably is something with the company. Bacck before I got my fabulous macs, I had an HP which I bought brand new, and had to spend an additional 843.83 to get it to function correctly, but still have minor problems. That comp. was the reason I switched to Apple Computers.
