This may be irrelevant, but my HP printer experiances are REALLY BAD.
It could be bad luck with the models I got, but It could and probably
is something with the company.

HPs laserjets (beyond the very low-end vertical path types) have been the Macs (computers or Mack Trucks) of printers in my experience. We have one HP laserjet III still kicking along cranking out pages. One of our student printers is a HP 5si that served as the primary network printer for the entire college for years.

Inkjet printers, OTOH, are all more or less disposable. None, in my experience, last all that long. (at least until you get into the really high end. We have a HP Poster sized printer that's as rugged as their laser printers, but it cost us $12,000...it damn well BETTER last!)

Bacck before I got my fabulous macs, I
had an HP which I bought brand new, and had to spend an additional
843.83 to get it to function correctly, but still have minor problems.
That comp. was the reason I switched to Apple Computers.

HP computers are another story entirely. I mislearned Unix on one of their FrankenUnix HP/UX systems. Their PC's are just as bad IMO.
