Heya, The B&W is only "supposed" to support 256MB modules (4 X 256) for a total of 1024 MB.
As far as the data corruption problem... it can indeed occur with a master and slave drive on the Rev. 1 motherboard IDE controller and anything but the OEM as a single drive is subject to the problem. It's really kind of hit or miss whether it will bite you though. I was running a 120 GB as a slave and a 60 GB master and had no problems till the Hitachi 120 died. After the second in-warranty replacement drive gave up the ghost, Hitachi "kind of" implied there may have been a problem with that series of drives. They finally sent me a 250 GB replacement drive, which was too big for the B&W to recognize. That one is now living happily in my 2.4 GHz peecee while the 60 GB has been running flawlessly in the B&W!
