By any chance do you need to update your firmware? As I understand
it, during the course of installing new software the installer offers
an opportunity to "Update". Once you have downloaded the firmware
update, try to install it. If you don't need it you'll see a dialog
box telling you so.

PS. Off hand I don't know the URL to download the firmware update,
but you could start with the basic <www.apple.com/support>
