Hi all,
I have a Beige G3 that's getting no video- tested screen, works fine
on other machines. Is there a PCI card (AGP???) that works without
having to install drivers (since there's no working screen to install
them)?
The original video card broke a few years ago and I think I put in a
twin turbo card, then gave the machine to a relative. He gave it back
now it's supposed to go to another relative who needs it. But I don't
remember about the drivers.
Looked on eBay for cheapies-
Here's the contestants so far:
Mac ATI Radeon 7000 VGA out only
Apple OEM Twin Turbo 128 3D PCI 8MB iXMicro Video Card
ATI Rage Pro 128 video card, 16MB MAC OEM, NR Apple
APPLE ATI RAGE 128 PCI 16MB VIDEO CARD MAC G3 / G4
Any suggestions? Thanks for any and all help!
Bill M
Any of the cards you have have listed will work with Mac OS 9.x (the
drivers are in the Mac OS ) without adding drivers. Apple Twin turbo
works with some versions of OSX. Any of the ATI cards would work well
with OSX no need to add drivers. A Mac 7000 with just an VGA port is a
flashed to PC card(All factory Mac 7000 cards have vga, DVI and
S-video out . Not a bad thing if the price is right and it works. So
I'd likely go by price and ATI will be better for long term use. best
of luck Will S
