Thanks to everyone for their input. I know that Panther can be
installed with xpostfacto, which installs the drivers needed for a
beige. I was just trying to avoid the extra steps. Since this is my
work Mac, I think I will leave well enough alone and keep running 10.2
for now.
That is, at least until minis start showing up on the swap list at
around $200. Given the historical Mac price depreciation, that should
be in about 2 years or so. Then I can just velcro one to the side of my
monitor for a zero desk space computing option.
