5. When upgrading to a faster processor, after installation, will the
G3
"tell me" (in the Apple System Profiler, for instance) that my
"machine
speed" is now, say, 300 MHz (or whatever it turns out to be), or
would I
have to do something to tell the G3 that I have a faster processor?
If I
have to tell it, how?
Nope, all done by the firmware. It's plug and play.

IF you remember that the ZIF and it's 'speed control jumper block' go
together.
ZIF's, easy to get -- 'jumper block'. easy to miss/ get on backwards/
etc.
See the information at, HTTP://www.lowendmac.com/ppc/j16.shtml for
'jumper block' details. (its easy to move the jumpers yourself.
Straight pin & tweezers.)
6. Would a USB card pulled from a Beige Tower work in a Beige
Desktop? If
so, does it need any kind of drivers or other software?
Yes, drivers are already in the OS.
Thanks for your help, everybody!
