I have a few dial-up configs, to choose one you either tick one from
a list under the dial up menu, top right of menu bar in Finder and
then click connect. The tick stays there. Is that it? Is that the
only indication I am really connected to the one I want (three hrs
down the track I have sometimes forgotten!)
I go to the Internet Connection panel, Internal Modem panel and it
shows Main Number! (Not the one I may be connected to). All others
are greyed out. Status at bottom is "Connected to 203.etc (This IP
number is useless to me).
Surely this is bad software mistake? It should show the particular
connection under the modem tab and not default to main number when
the main number is not being used and one is actually connected? The
options are live (not greyed) when not connected and one can then use
them instead of the Main Number.
But it is the lack of info (except that measly greyed out tick on the
greyed out menu item) when connected that I am wondering about? In
the main system prefs and network panel one can see the number of the
ISP one is connected to, but that is still not enough info if one has
a number of accounts on the same ISP.
