Isn't there also room on the B&W G3 Rev.b 'case floor' for more
drives beneath the optical drives?

Those bottom places aren't "reserved" for SCSI devices, ANY 3.5" drive can go there

It is actually possible to add six drives to the floor of a G3 B&W, using three of the "stacker" style drive trays. You do have to modify (move) the drive screw mounting holes on the center sled though, as there is not enough clearance using the standard holes.
