With the caveat that you need to use the 'wrong' key to produce the control- 
part of the command a PC keyboard will work. The newer flat Apple keyboards 
require a driver on older Macs (any Mac prior to their introduction) so you do 
need to keep the original USB keyboard around for this instances (I just 
plugged my old keyboard into the new keyboard when I needed to do that on my 
old iMac.)

Built-in USB versus PCI card doesn't matter save in OS 9, I believe.
