A note taker doesn't run under the same principles as a web browser - I'd
be
doubtful of it working unless I'm misjudging the device.

I don't know as I don't use windows ce but I use ie 8 and it works fine
for
me. A lot of the stuff you click on aren't links as such it just looks
like
lines of text. Like inventory for example. But if you can click on that
and
bring up the inventory then it should work for you.

Yes, I still play a number of text based games. Although, admittedly
it has been a few weeks since I played any recently. However, there
are people here including myself that still play the old Inform based
zcode games you speak of. I also occasionally play mud's like Alter
Aeon and some browser based games like Sryth.
