Hi,
I think one of the major reasons why XP had to die was to make room for a better OS architecture supporting 64-bit CPUs and based on a more leightweight kernel, giving Win Vista and its successors a speed advantage. Ok, i wouldn't want to glorify Vista by any means. *grin*

If people want toe look and feel of older OSes such as XP, they can safely install Classic Shell, which lets you customize what OS to mimic when it comes to folders and desktop look-and-feel.

XP on my old Pentium 4 was waaayyy slow, although pretty stable. The hardware started to glitch and eventually died. My new I7-based system had given me very little trouble with neither win8.1 nor with10.

hth,
Tobias
