Assuming the game is designed to be cross-platform it shouldn't work any
different on a different operating system. However, there is a lot more
involved in a cross-platform game than making sure you have the
supported hardware. Each operating system uses different  development
libraries, APis, etc which makes it difficult to create games that run
on more than one operating system. Plus if the game is written in C or C
++ it has to be re compiled individually   for each of the target
platforms. A lot of developers just won't bother with the hassle of
making a game cross-platform as it takes quite a bit of time and work to
accomplish.
