Shadow Dragon,

The Greenhole area is actually finished - or rather, it was considered
finished, many years ago, when it was installed. The biggest problem
with the area is that it needs maintenance, someone to come in, really
learn all the details, and take care of it in a manner that the
builder would have intended. Because it's such a complex area, it's
unlikely that will happen soon.

One of the big problems with history on the Alter Aeon server is that
it's being written by so many people at the same time. There's also
not much payoff for going back to clean up or add history to an older
area - I could spend a week making an older area beautiful, but most
players would prefer that I work on brand new material.

Regarding 'guess the syntax' games, I abhor those, and have put in
place a pretty strong policy of keeping them limited. Games and
puzzles should be something you can figure out, given obvious clues
and a little effort. They should not be guessing games. If you find
syntax puzzles in the game, please report them with the 'bug' or
'typo' command.

(Note that the chess area is the one big exception to this, but only
because the syntax is standard in professional chess, and because
there's no other reasonable way to make the area work with the current
server code. If it makes you feel any better, I have never once
completed the chess quests.)

For more information about how much I hate syntax puzzles, please see
the 'help catrub' page on the server. The web url is
