Here is a patch for the new 3.0.0 version to fix the subfs problem I fixed in 
2.5.6.

Quick summary of the problem is that gmond would continually check 
the /media/cdrom and /media/floppy subfs mounts under suse9.1, causing the 
kernel message log to get VERY full with cdrom open failed, i/o error on fd0 
type messages.
