i just uploaded a new snapshot of ganglia 3.0.0 to http://matt-massie.com/ganglia/
this snapshot has a more complete gangliad and better documentation (meaning there IS documentation). inside the distribution, you can read them with % man ./gangliad/gangliad.1 % man ./gangliad/ganglia.conf.5 % more README there is also ./gangliad/ganglia.conf.html and ./gangliad/gangliad.html files to open with you web browser. all documentation is generated automagically from pod files to run the new snapshot % ./configure % make and then go to the gangliad directory % cd ./gangliad there is a very simple ganglia.conf file that loads two sample modules "mod_example" and "mod_load" without any parameters. run gangliad... % ./gangliad if you want to get crazy you can load up a number of http servers on different ports with different modules by changing ganglia.conf. i'll have a more detailed documentation and code very soon. i'll also explain how the ganglia namespace will likely work. i'm just running out of time today. i'll also be adding the threshold checks to the module structures very soon with some examples (e.g. for alerts). -matt p.s. just a friendly reminder that the presidential debates are on in 1.5 hours. if are you stuck at work, you should be able to see it on http://www.cspan.org/. if you have not yet registered to vote, you can do it now at http://www.declareyourself.com/. -- PGP fingerprint 'A7C2 3C2F 8445 AD3C 135E F40B 242A 5984 ACBC 91D3' They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. --Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759
