Nope, they don't need to proove Cam had knowledge. Remember, the NCAA is
not a court of law, they don't need to prove beyond a reasonable doubt or
even to the preponderence of evidence. They can make any decision the
infractions committee feels just based on the information in front of them.
And while they don't have subpeona powers, if they ask a member school for
information or access to an individual associated with the school, the
school must provide or it is deemed an admission of guilt (see the F$U
case).

If the rule were simply that if Cam didn't have knowledge, then it is okay,
every school in the country would be paying parents.

The problem at hand is the NCAA does not move fast in this type of
investigation. They will want to see the whole picture to determine if it
is simply an athlete eligibility issue or if some of these other allegations
are also true. Until they rule, it is up to the school to determine
eligibility and Auburn has determined they will play Cam. Auburn is playing
a risky game of poker here, if Cam is ultimately ruled ineligible, their
whole season goes down the crapper, or they may determine he is eligible and
all is well. In the meantime, they play for the SECC and BCSC and possibly
bring home a title. Two years down the road, the NCAA may rule and the wins
get stripped, but they have had two years of recruiting success based on
this year. Auburn is all in, do or die.

I've been following this as well. There would seemingly need to be some
proof of knowledge on Cams part. But I don't know if that is a fact or not.
Proving he had knowledge is going to be pretty tough.

Yep.. thats basically what happened with the Reggie Bush scandal. But some
of the so called experts Ive been listening to on the situation think that
if Cam had no knowledge.. Cam may be cleared. I think with Reggie Bush...
he knew of the situation. Granted.. the question is.. how could Cam NOT
know.

Who knows who actually knows or did what.

FBI aside, from what I understand, the NCAA forbids even the player's FAMILY
from "negotiations". If it is determined that his dad DID offer to "steer"
his son to a particular school for a payoff, Cam will be ruled ineligible.
Period.

yes. The FBI is investigating.

Yes.. the NCAA is investigating.

But we dont know that they have found anything criminal or corrupt yet. And
youll excuse me for saying.. Fla was once also accused and charged with just
as scandalous of behavior... does that mean UF is corrupt? Does that mean
Bama is corrupt after their incident? The answer is no obviously... but
lets not jump to conclusions about Cam or Auburn till we know for sure.

There are no facts (so far) that Cam has done anything wrong.

What do you mean no facts ??

We know that MSU alleged that they were approached by people stating they
represented Cam Newton and wanted money for him to sign with MSU. This has
been verified by numerous people.

We know the FBI is involved and have questioned MSU representatives.

We know that Auburn has a long and distinguished history of cheating.

We know that Bobby Lowder and other AU boosters have corrupted the AU
program for a long time.

We know that Lowder's Bank went under.

We know that Auburn Boosters have been arrested for bribing Politicians.

We know that the FBI has wiretapped numerous phones in the investigation of
Lowder and other AU boosters over Bank and Gambling issues.

I've followed and been involved in recruiting for over 25 years, only the
most diehard Auburn Fan would not believe they are in deep doo doo.

Does anyone honestly believe that MSU was told it will take 100-180K to get
Cam Newton and all of a sudden he signs with Auburn for Free ??

The one thing that will absolutely kill Auburn is if the FBI has Auburn
boosters on tape discussing who/what/when and how Auburn Players are getting
paid.

I'm 99% sure that they do.

I still believe this has the potential to be the biggest scandal in College
Football History.

Tooo much speculation... no facts. Yes.. I agree that where there is smoke
there is fire... but a) we dont know that Cam himself had anything to do
with this. (yet) b) We dont know that Auburn did anything wrong (yet).

No.. its not looking good IF you go by all the reports. By the way.. some
of those reports have also already been refuted (including the so call
confernece call with Meyer and Mullen).. and until these so called
"sources" come to light... its all speculation and its all just a whole
lotta whooey probably over nothing.

Its like I told my Auburn friend the other day.........if Cam did nothing
wrong.. he (and Auburn) has nothing to worry about. End of story.

I don't post very often but when something comes up that is just to big and

I'm sure most are following the Cam Newton Saga, I'll admit I was not that
interested in the story until recently, I have a Nephew that's an Auburn
Grad, I told him based on my experience, it's probably true that Auburn was
buying players. I went on to say, if you hear the FBI is involved, then you
will know for sure it's true and to expect major probation for Auburn.

Today when I heard that the FBI had interviewed several MSU people about the
play for pay scheme involving Cam Newton, my interest level went up
considerably.

I thought the reason the FBI might get involved is that price allegedly
involved was 100-180 K, that amount of money changing hands undocumented
will get the FBI's interest.

However, I am dumbfounded at that the amount of information/gossip/rumor out
there about this case. Not only is the FBI involved, but just about every
major booster at Auburn is involved, state politicians are involved, federal
indictments are involved, murder for hire has been mentioned, this case has
the potential to turn into the biggest scandal in College Football History..

I'll give you 4 links and let you judge for yourself, but I warn, make sure
you have a couple of hours to sit down and digest all that's out there.
