I know that this sounds dopy, but I remember watching the spread under Urban at Utah. It was a thing of beauty. I don't believe that I ever saw the spread at UF. I saw a balanced offense under Leak, a unique single-back under Tebow who was such a running threat that he could run play action with an empty backfield, and a train wreck last year. I recall a lot of dive plays to our speedy under-sized running backs. But the spread? Not as it was represented. There was an article in SI about the Utah - Pitt BCS bowl game. The number of options under the spread with Alex Smith seemed brilliant. Never saw it at Florida. Perhaps it couldn't work in the SEC and he modified it to make it work. Perhaps Tebow was such a talent that it made sense to maximize his role. Not sure. -Zeb -- GATORS: ONE VOICE ON SATURDAY - NO VOICE ON SUNDAY! 1996 National Football Champions | 2006 National Basketball Champions 2006 National Football Champions | 2007 National Basketball Champions 2008 National Football Champions | Three Heisman Trophy winners: Steve Spurrier (1966), Danny Wuerffel (1996), Tim Tebow (2007) - Visit our website at www.gatornet.us
