The other side of the coin to filling up the 85 man roster ASAP is balance by
class. If we take the 31 total bodies we could this year, and they all leave
the program about the same time, we'd have a hole that we couldn't fill with a
"full" recruiting haul of 25.

Also, I believe that Muschamp and crew have done their due diligence, and
aren't opposed to taking 3 star players, in fact, there were a handful of them
included in this incoming class. As much as we need depth, unless it's of a
certain level of quality, it really doesn't provide true depth, or help your
starters develop, and I'm pretty sure that they don't want to waste
time/schollies on players that have little to no chance of benefitting the
program.

I guess I lean a bit with Jerry on this. You know, when people look back on
signing classes four years out, there are always a pile of 3-star kids who
didn't get as much recruiting attention, but who turn out to be stars. (LSU's
Mathieu was a 3-star recruit, for example.) The thing about these kids is that
they're mostly getting offers from middling schools and many would jump at a
chance to come to Florida. If I had 8 more slots available, I would have been
trying to fill my class with some of those guys whom my coaches and their HS
coaches thought had that potential, like that lightweight OL recruit we did
sign. We need bodies for the OL. I'd leave a few spots open, but not eight.
