You are correct Woody, especially about Mornhinweg. In addition to
getting started at QB a little later, he is also an excellent safety.
He got great attention as a Jr at that position. BTW, are you aware
that his Dad, Marty Mornhinweg is the OC for the Philadelphia Eagles.
He has a great background. I'm interested to see how he fits in when he
arrives.

Ive been hearing that Mornhinweg and Andrades are both better than the
rating they were given... I dont remember all the specifics..but
Mornhinweg's was partially because he started at QB late and I think
he also had a injury that kept him out too. So not alot of film on him.

In a related note, the surprise offer this year went to Raph
Andrades of Lincoln High in Tallahassee; the 159th rated receiver
in this class.
Today, his teammate James Hearns (a MLB) committed for 2013.
Something tells me that Hearns ends up rated a little higher than
159th:
"LBs Daniel McMillian, James Hearns commit to Florida for 2013
by Jason Lieser
The 2013 national signing day is a year away, but Florida already
has four commitments for that class.
The latest are a pair of linebackers who committed today,
according to multiple media reports. Daniel McMillian (6-3, 220)
and James Hearns (6-3, 230) both told the coaching staff they will
sign with the Gators next year.
*Hearns, from Tallahassee-Lincoln, has several offers, including
Florida State, Miami, Alabama, LSU and Notre Dame*"

As much as we need depth, unless it's of a certain level of

waste time/schollies on players that have little to no chance of
benefitting the program.
Sometimes it is good to build bridges with high school coaches.
It can pay dividends in the long run.
I recall that Wondy Pierre-Louis was essentially homeless and had
not received offers, UF gave him a home and a fresh start to his
life.
Perhaps one day, Wondy's high school coach will be coaching the
next Emmitt Smith and that gives Florida the edge. Even if not,
it seems like a decent thing to do.
